Technical Production Editor

The Technical Production Editor is responsible for managing interactive content creation from the moment an author is contracted to the moment that content is published to learners. Production Editors are champions of content quality, ensuring every piece of content we publish meets or exceeds our quality standards, including technical, design, code quality, and audiovisual. Equal parts code-reviewer and problem solver, the Production Editor is accountable for delivering high quality, working content on schedule. This includes educating authors in test writing, design, recording, and production best practices, reviewing submitted materials, proofreading course metadata, and publishing content to Pluralsight’s library.

Ideal candidates come from a background that includes direct or indirect experience with software development, such as (but not limited to) developer, programmer, software engineer, Quality assurance (QA) for a technology company, and technical support.

The position is located in our offices in South Jordan, Utah.  5-10% international travel is required.  The role is eligible for remote employment for US based candidates.

 What you’ll own:

  • Supporting authors during the interactive content creation process
  • Ensuring interactive content meets the highest standards of quality set forth by Pluralsight
  • Reviewing projects in GitHub, and managing version control through git
  • Ensuring that guides and resources for creating interactive content are created and maintained
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, using data to measure impact
  • Reviewing all interactive content before final publication to ensure quality of content and user experience. This may include review of meta-data, URLs, tags, technical tasks, spelling, grammar, code, and unit tests
  • Evaluating interactive content and determining which edits are required before publishing; communication with authors about course feedback

Experience you’ll need:

  • Experience in a technical environment, having worked in some technical capacity with software engineers or as a software engineer or related title
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience building, developing, and maintaining relationships (preferably with technical professionals)
  • Experience delivering production of some product or content on a regular cadence and in a timely manner – you’re not afraid to push or follow up on commitments
  • Experience with GitHub (or Bitbucket, GitLab or similar code hosting platforms) is a plus
