Product Engineer (Growth)

Intercom is building a best-in-class Growth team to unlock value for our customers and achieve profitability for Intercom. To do this, we are expanding our product engineering offices in San Francisco to become our center of excellence for Growth. Our overall aim is to connect many more people to the value that Intercom offers through exceptional customer experience. The Growth teams will work in tight collaboration with go-to-market (GTM) partners in sales, marketing and analytics to unlock value for customers, improve GTM efficiency and enable smart proactive decisions that drive business impact.

This opportunity is to join Intercom as a member of our engineering team and growth group.

What will I be doing? ?

  • Help shape our growth strategy and roadmap
  • Work with autonomy on large projects critical to this roadmap, executing toward simple, effective solutions
  • Work with PMs, EMs and Senior Engineers to help direct team-level priority
  • Collaborate directly with partners across product, design, analytics, sales, and marketing

What skills do I need? ?

  • Demonstrated impact in a similar role
  • Demonstrated competence in great technical design, solution scoping and planning
  • Fluency in at least one modern web framework and programming language
  • A growth mindset and an eagerness to learn
  • An ability to thrive self-directed in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy

Nice to haves

  • Fluency in Ruby On Rails, Ember.js or React
  • An analytical acumen or experience running growth experiments
  • An interest in teaching, coaching and developing peers
  • Demonstrated impact working closely with sales and marketing as part of a growth organization
  • Demonstrated impact in a world-class SaaS product engineering environment

How will I be supported?

  • You’ll report directly to an Engineering Manager who will start you off with a great onboarding plan
  • You’ll embed immediately in one of our Engineering teams and receive peer support from an Interbuddy
  • We invest heavily in our Engineers, supporting individual career development through training and coaching
  • If you need to move to the Bay Area from elsewhere in the US, we’ll support you with a relocation package
